Convergences Conference 2021

Convergences 2021

Convergences is the York University and University of Toronto Graduate History Conference, and the theme for 2021 is “Confronting Crisis: Writing History in Uncertain Times.”

This year’s confernece runs from Wednesday, 28 April through to Friday, 30 April 2021, will take place on Zoom, and will be live captioned.

I am one of the co-organizers along with a great team of history graduate students from both York University and the University of Toronto, and I’m very excited to see this conference come into fruition after months of hard work.

We have four fabulous keynote speakers lined up, opening with Dr Funké Aladejebi and closing with a three-speaker panel featuring Dr Monica Green, Dr Kate Brown, and President of the Ontario Black History Society, Natasha Henry.

The graduate student panels we developed are filled with incredible papers and the full schedule is available online.

Registration is free, but we encourage donations to Second Harvest for those who are able to do so.

I hope you’ll join us!
