AFI is known for their atmospheric intro songs, notably Decemberunderground’s stirring “Prelude 12/21″ and Sing the Sorrow’s “Miseria Cantare – The Beginning.” The first song, “The Sinking Night,” sets a dark tone for Burials: Blackness drips down from both of my hands / The gold in my palm was mistaken for sand / Can you feel it?
