The strawberries have been flowering for about a week now, and the blueberry bush is starting to get its first buds.
I can see tiny buds starting on my tomatoes and chilies too.
This weekend I’m going to finally put in some jalapeƱos, and maybe get some more basil. We’ve been getting a lot of rain the past couple of weeks, and I don’t think I had enough drainage holes in the containers. So I’ll have to fix that this weekend, and see if I might be able to revive them.
One good thing about the rain is that maintaining the garden so far this year has been relatively low maintenance. I think I watered it once last week.
Something appears to be eating the lettuce, but the spinach is doing well. The oregano is turning into a giant bush, and I need to weed above the marigolds, but otherwise things are looking good.
While I’m out getting jalapeƱos, I’ll also look into a wire frame for the snap peas. The plants are getting to big to keep on like that. They’re starting to grab on to whatever is closest. In this case, the lavender.
The columbine is growing like crazy. It looks gorgeous, but I have no idea what to do with it. Recipes welcome.
